Again, the first big Team Rocket villain our protagonists encountered turns out to be a secret ally, who saw that coming? Ariana ain’t a full-fledged good guy though, she’s not gonna do or say anything that could risk herself being discovered as a traitor or putting her husband in particular at risk. So she’s not gonna, say, suddenly turn in a midst of a Rocket vs Leaders battle – at most she’s gonna hold back to a non-suspicious degree.

So yeah, she still would’ve killed them back then.
