In case you never questioned it – the Grass-type badge is called Rainbow Badge and it consists of the colors of all the other badges. Meanwhile, the Earth Badge is shaped like a plant. For me, it’s obvious the Rainbow Badge was supposed to be the last one and Earth Badge was supposed to be the Plant Badge Erika would give. But I guess at some point they figured a colorful Rainbow Badge, while fitting the last Gym, wouldn’t fit the big bad Giovanni…
But yes, I imagine the Leaders have some control over the designs of their badges, so Calluna made her badge resemble a plant. To tie to her family’s name theme.
